Brewer Youth Theatre presents the classic American drama, Thornton Wilder’s “Our Town”, Thursday through Saturday, October 28-30 at 7:00 p.m. in the Brewer Middle School Auditorium. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students.

In June of 2010, a small group from Brewer High School traveled with EF Tours to Costa Rica.

Look at all the fun we had and the interesting things we saw. Some of the highlights include time in the Arenal region where we got to hear and see volcanic eruptions and relax (and splash around) in hot springs warmed by those volcanoes. We got to take a short hike to LaFortuna waterfall and swim in the clear water. We could even see the fish swim with us!

We then continued our trip in a rainforest preserve where we were awoken by howler monkeys, went whitewater rafting in the Sarapiqui River, and soared through the rainforest on an awesome zipline. The second half of the trip was just as fun. We learned a lot about Costa Rica and we had a great time!

Another trip is planned for June of 2011. All are welcome! Come to an informational meeting on September 29 @ 2:15 in the student services conference room. An EF tours representative will be there to answer questions.

Brewer students from Mrs. Spruce’s, Mrs. Menninghaus’s, Mrs. White’s, and Mr. Merrill’s classes designed their own “Pinwheels for Peace.”  They were displayed on the front lawn of the school on September 21 to celebrate International Peace Day.

The Outdoor Education program at Brewer High School was featured in the Outdoor section of this weekend’s Bangor Daily News. Click on this headline to read more: “Course helps Brewer students get outdoors while earning credits”.

Former Brewer High School student Eimi DeWitt was featured in the Monday, September 6, edition of the Bangor Daily News (“Redemption center beautified by student”) for her work this summer in creating a mural in Brewer for the Brewer Redemption Center.   Brewer High School teachers, Doreen Page and Randy Menninghaus, coordinated the start and planning of this project and in finding Eimi to assist as the artist.
