MEA Testing Schedule

During the next several weeks, Maine Students in grades 3-8 will be taking the MEA standardized achievement test.  You may see this test referred to as eMPower ME, which is the same test that has been given for the past few years.  Students will be asked to show their knowledge in the content areas of reading, writing, and mathematics through a computer-based program.  Practice tests and sample items have been provided so that students are comfortable with the format. There is one less test this year, as there will not be a written essay component. Additionally, students in grades 5 and 8 will continue to be tested using a paper-pencil test in science during a separate test window.

The test dates at BCS are as follows:

To support your children, please make sure that they have a healthy breakfast and plenty of rest, so that they are refreshed and ready to work.  Daily attendance and punctuality during the period of testing is extremely important as well. If your child has to miss a test session, he or she will need to make up the assessment at a later date, and will likely miss class time to do so.

We thank you in advance for your support!
