FIRST (For Inspiration & Recognition of Science & Technology) LEGO League challenges the kids to apply scientific methods and engineering to choose and solve a real-world problem by developing a project based on this year’s theme: INTO ORBIT. They have also built, tested, and programmed a robot using LEGO® MINDSTORMS® technology to solve a set of missions in the Robot Game. The teams will operate under the FIRST signature set of Core Values, celebrating discovery, teamwork, and Gracious Professionalism®.
After advancing to the Maine State Championship that took place on December 8th, 2018, our FIRST LEGO League team: LEGO Legends, secured 1st Place on the Research Award. This award “recognizes a team that utilizes diverse resources to formulate an in-depth and comprehensive understanding of the problem they have identified.
Brewer Community School students Elijah Audet (8th), Zachary Arnold (6th), Aimon Anderson (5th), Cooper Charette (5th), Dhruv Jain (5th), and Marcus Davis (4th), along with Wyatt Wilson (4th) from Center Drive School are the LEGO Legends.
