Due to the impending storm and the likelihood of dangerous road conditions due both to the predictions of wet, heavy snow and downed trees and other hazards, we are canceling school for tomorrow, Thursday, April 4, 2024. All after school activities are also canceled for the afternoon and evening of April 4th.

The Brewer School Department will have a 2-hour delay this morning, March 21, 2024, due to low visibility during the early darkness with some blowing snow. The delay means bus runs and school openings will occur 2-hours later than a normal day. Our end of day schedule will remain the same as any other day.

Dear Brewer School Department Families,
Brewer High School (BHS) is closed tomorrow, Friday, April 28, 2023 due to a plumbing issue that has affected most of the building. For safety purposes we need to have that addressed before reopening the building. After school activities will be happening, but nothing will be scheduled inside the building until further notice.
Brewer Community School (BCS) will be in regular session. It is not affected.
BHS students should check their school email and Google Classroom accounts tomorrow no later than 7:50 a.m. for any instructions from your teachers regarding school work and classes.

When necessary, the Brewer School Department applies specific herbicides
and pesticides for both weed and insect control. Weather permitting, Green Thumb Lawn Service will be performing the weed and insect control application to the BCS and BHS athletic fields on Sunday, April 30, 2023 with a rain date of Sunday, May 7, 2023. Please observe all postings, and keep off all treated areas during the application and until dry. The weed control being applied is Chaser (EPA Registration No. 34704-928). The fertilizer & grub management being applied is 22-0-5 (EPA Registration No. 100-1492-82757). The insecticide being applied is Bisect L (EPA Registration No. 34704-955). The Brewer School Department will have a 2-hour delay Wednesday morning in order for roads and parking lots to be made safe for travel.

Brewer Schools will be canceled Tuesday, February 2nd due to the approaching winter storm.
In Brewer this means there will be no academic program, no remote learning. It is a traditional snow day.
Our food services program will also be closed to protect the safety of those staff.
This does not affect co and extra curricular activities the evening of Wednesday, February 1st since the storm will not hit until closer to midnight.
It is atypical to cancel the evening before a storm, but the certainty of the forecast, and what will be dangerous conditions makes me want to send the message in support of keeping our students (and families) off the roads in the morning if at all possible.
Brewer Central Office will also be closed for our staff's safety.

Dear Brewer Schools' Families,
Brewer Community School (BCS) has power, heat, and internet and the city's roads are clear so BCS will have school today.
Brewer High School (BHS) had a remote learning day for cohort B planned for today with at-school learning previously cancelled due to the recent cases of COVID-19. Due to power outages in RSU 63 and Orrington and Dedham that remote day for cohort B will likely be postponed to Wednesday, December 2. This means that cohort A would not have a remote learning day on Wednesday. Principal Slowikowski will follow up with BHS families to confirm this schedule and these changes.
Brewer High School will return to its regular remote schedule including in-person instructional day for cohort A on Thursday, December 2; and for cohort B on Friday, December 3.

The Brewer School Department is canceling after school student activities today, December 17, 2019 due to snow that will persist throughout the evening hours.
Brewer Schools are closed today, Tuesday, December 3, 2019. Our central office will also close due to worsening road conditions.
All after school activities are cancelled today, Monday, November 18 for Brewer Schools due to the forecast predicting slippery conditions this afternoon.
The Brewer School Department is deeply shocked and saddened to learn that one of our high school seniors, Jordan Parkhurst, died in a car crash on Saturday evening. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jordan’s family and friends during this most difficult time. Jordan made our school community a better place. Brewer High School has activated a crisis response team and will have counselors and supports in place for all students and staff members when return to school on Monday morning, November 18.
We would like to thank Brewer Public Safety for working with the Brewer School Department I’m dealing with this tragedy.

Fall Sports Physical Exams
All Brewer students needing physicals for fall sports can go to our Brewer High School Wellness Clinic August 8th from 5-7pm. For $47 PCHC staff will be there to administer the physical and will take checks/cash or bill for later payment. If you don't have physical form, you can go to:
