March Update

Hi BCS and Happy Spring! March has been a very busy month so far here at school!

  • Our second trimester of the school year ended on 3/10 and report cards went home with students on 3/16. If you have any questions about your child’s progress so far this year, please don’t hesitate to reach out to their teacher(s).

  • The UMaine Singers gave a fantastic performance to 500 of our students on March 8th. We want to thank our music and chorus teacher, Micaela Ellis, for organizing this!

  • The BHS Championship Basketball team paraded through our hallways on March 9th. Students and staff lined the hallway and congratulated them on a fantastic season!

  • PTU held their Movie night on March 17th. It was well attended, and we want to thank this core group for their continued support of our school.

  • On March 8th, we practiced a “secure” safety drill. This drill requires anyone outside of the building to come inside and stay inside, until the drill concludes. Everyone did a great job practicing this important safety protocol.

Looking ahead to the next few weeks, there are a few things we want to highlight for our BCS families.

  • Hannaford Helps Schools will be donating $1 from every reusable bag sold at their Brewer Hannaford on Wilson St. to BCS during the month of April.

  • PK and K registration are ongoing for fall of 2023. Please call the office or stop by ASAP if you need a registration packet!

  • On Wednesday, 3/22, we will be practicing another one of our required school safety drills. This drill will be a pre- announced, lockdown practice at around 1:15 pm. We want to thank our amazing School Resource Officer, Officer Willey, for his diligent work here organizing these important rehearsals at BCS focused on keeping everyone safe!

  • Finally, March 31st is a scheduled early release day for students. Middle school students will be dismissed at 10:50 and Elementary students at 11:45.
