April Newsletter

March was a long month, but we kept our students busy with some great presentations at BCS. On March 19th students in grades 2-5 enjoyed a concert performed by the University of Maine Singers. The choir performed music from a variety of genres and in multiple languages. The ensemble also held a question and answer session with the audience, during which students asked great questions and got to learn more about being involved in music throughout their lives.

On March 27th Grades 4-6 were able to attend a dress rehearsal by The Brewer Drama Club. Students enjoyed watching classmates perform, That’s The Ticket, a production of Cinderella on a shoestring budget. The cast of 7th and 8th graders did an amazing job! Thank you to everyone who supported the program and attended the evening performance, there was a wonderful turn out.

A HUGE Thank You to the PTU for hosting the Family Glow Dance in March! BCS appreciates all of the volunteers and work that went into making the event a success. Students and families enjoyed glow sticks, tattoos, and face-painting in addition to all the dancing and music.

iGUARDIAN Presentation
On April 1st and 2nd BCS Middle School students attended iGuardian presentations with HSI Agents Mathius and Kelly and FBI Agent Agular. Agents discussed internet safety, appropriate and inappropriate things to share online, and how to avoid being a victim to internet crimes. Presenters gave an entry-level introduction to some of the threats students face online in an age appropriate manner.

GLOW DANCE! 5th and 6th graders (ONLY) are invited to an epic NEON party on Friday April 11th, 6-8 pm. Admission is $5 and students can bring extra money for concessions and glow items.  Drop off and pick up will be at Front Entrance.
