October means that fall is here, even if it still feels like summer! It has been a BUSY start to the school year. BCS sports are in full swing, the weather has been beautiful, and we encourage you to stop by and support our fall teams if you are able. Our Kindergarten classes went on a field trip to Sullivan’s Apple Orchard and Country Pumpkins to enjoy some fun fall activities. 3rd graders also enjoyed a field trip to Acadia National park for the Junior Ranger Program and some hiking. 7th Grade plans to hit the trails next week, mountain biking in Northern Maine with the Maine Outdoor Education Program. All great ways to enjoy the fall season!
Middle School Clubs and After School Programs ~
Brewer Community School’s after school programs and clubs are getting started. Student Council and Civil Rights Club have recently had their first meetings of the school year. The Drama Program will be having auditions on October 14th, for the fall production. Auditions are open to students in grades 5-8. BCS is excited for the return of the Choral Program for grades 6-8. More details will be available soon. There are many opportunities for students to be involved with extracurricular activities here at BCS.
National Bike to School Day~
October 8th, students in grades 2-4 have the opportunity to participate in the “BIKE BUS” and ride their bike to school. Parents must register their student with the google form that was emailed earlier this week. We hope that this will be a successful event that we can do again in the spring.
