BCS Family Update

October 6, 2022

It’s hard to believe we are already a week into the month of October! We are so impressed with how well our students and staff have settled into this school year.  With fall here, cooler weather is upon us, especially in the mornings! Just a reminder to please be sure students are dressed for these frosty starts.

We held our first school spirit day on September 30th! It was so fun to see our staff and students in PK through 8th grade wearing Brewer colors. Keep your eyes out for future spirit days in the months ahead. Go Witches!

Mid- Trimester Progress Reports are coming home with students in grades 1-8 today. Although Report Cards are issued each trimester, these reports should give you some good information about how your child is doing up to this point in the trimester. If you have any questions about this report, please contact the teacher.

The Fall NWEA testing window runs through November 4th for students in grades 2-8. NWEA is a computer based test that includes a reading, math, and language test session. Each lasts about an hour. We do these twice per year in Brewer to monitor progress of our students. This year, they are also counting as our required MEA testing for grades 3-8.  Each grade level has selected the dates to complete these important assessments, which are as follows:

  • Week of 10/3 - Grades 5 and 8

  • Week of 10/11 - Grades 4 and 7

  • Week of 10/17 -  Grades 3 and 6

  • Week of 10/31 - Grade 2

Upcoming dates:

  • 10/7 No school- Teacher Workshop Day

  • 10/10 No School- Holiday

  • 10/21 Fall Fest and Middle School Dance, more information to follow
