Hi BCS!
We look forward to seeing everyone Monday evening !

Good Afternoon BCS Families! Our open house for the 2024/2025 school year is scheduled for August 26th. This is a great opportunity to tour the school, visit classrooms, and meet our awesome staff. We will do two sessions according to grade levels, so that only one group is in each wing at a time. If you have students in multiple grades, we recommend you visit between 5:30-6:30.
Session 1 - 5:00-6:00 - PK, 1, 3, 5, 7
Session 2 - 6:00-7:00 - K, 2, 4, 6, 8

Hi BCS! Just a reminder to save the date(s) for our open house on the evening of 8/26 and our first day of school for K-8 on 8/28! More information will be coming your way as we get closer. In the meantime, make sure to check out the July update, which has a TON of informtion, including grade level welcome letters and (optional) school supply lists. This was emailed to families in late July, and can also be found in the "news" section of our website.

Throughout May 2024 BCS will receive $1 for every Hannaford Community Bag sold at Brewer Hannaford!!

Hi BCS! Check out some of the signs from our hallway "Sensory Path." We hope everyone is having a great vacation week so far and we look forward to seeing you on the 22nd!

4.3.2024
Dear Brewer School Department Families & Staff,
Due to the impending storm and the likelihood of dangerous road conditions due both to the predictions of wet, heavy snow and downed trees and other hazards, we are canceling school for tomorrow, Thursday, April 4, 2024. All after school activities are also canceled for the afternoon and evening of April 4th.
Please be safe if you have to be out during the storm.
Sincerely,
Gregg Palmer
(he/him/his)

The Brewer School Department is changing from a 2-hour delay to a school cancellation today, March 21, 2024, due to worsening storm conditions.
Stay safe if you have to be out on the roadways.
Best,
Gregg Palmer

The Brewer School Department will have a 2-hour delay this morning, March 21, 2024, due to low visibility during the early darkness with some blowing snow. The delay means bus runs and school openings will occur 2-hours later than a normal day. Our end of day schedule will remain the same as any other day.
Be safe,
Gregg Palmer, Superintendent

Another batch of positive postcards going out in the mail today! We are so proud of our amazing students here at BCS!

The US CDC issued a press release on March 1st, 2024 which updates the isolation guidelines for COVID-19.
The update highlights that when people get sick with a respiratory virus they should stay home and away from others. For people with COVID-19 and influenza, treatment is available and can lessen symptoms and lower the risk of severe illness. The recommendations suggest returning to normal activities when, for at least 24 hours, symptoms are improving overall, and if a fever is present, it has been gone without the use of a fever-reducing medication before returning to school.
This means that there is no longer a mandated 5-days of isolation or 10-days of masking. However, the CDC does continue to encourage masking for 5-days upon return to normal activities.
As part of the guidance, CDC provides active recommendations on core prevention steps and strategies:
*Staying up to date with vaccination to protect people against serious illness, hospitalization, and death. This includes flu, COVID-19, and RSV (if eligible).
*Practicing good hygiene by covering coughs and sneezes, washing or sanitizing hands often, and cleaning frequently touched surfaces.
*Taking steps for cleaner air, such as bringing in more fresh outside air, purifying indoor air, or gathering outdoors.
Please let us know if you're in need of a home test in order to identify what kind of illness you are experiencing.

Pre-Kindergarten & Kindergarten Registration starts in just 2 weeks!
If you would like to add your student to the registration list, please email Kristi Carney at kcarney@breweredu.org.

Happy Thursday BCS!
Just a reminder that we have an early release day scheduled for tomorrow, December 8th. School is dismissed three hours earlier than usual with Middle School dismissal beginning at 10:50am and Elementary dismissal beginning at 11:45am. If your child has different after-school plans for the early release day, please be sure to send a note to their teacher. Have a great evening!

No school today, 12/4/23!
